## Summary

Rob asked for the agent-loop articles to be brought up to date with a loop protocol that had changed substantially since they were drafted, with no historical material. He asked for questions early and for agents to be fanned out to do the build.

Rob asked for the agent-loop articles to match a protocol that had changed substantially since they were drafted, with no historical material. Eight read-only research lanes mapped the current system and audited each published entry, and all of them were out of date: one needed a full rewrite, six needed heavy revision and two needed light edits. After Rob answered scoping questions, nine writing and plumbing lanes revised the articles, wrote a new article on the 3 October reset, and moved the site's protocol pages onto the loop contract and harness files. Adversarial reviewers found factual errors in several drafts, and these were fixed before the build passed and the site deployed. Several follow-ups remain open, including the figure set that has not been generated and reset numbers that are still early.

## What came out of it

- Rewrote "The agent loop protocol" (about 4,240 words) against the current loop contract.
- Revised the machinery, lessons, Codex/pi, one-agent-context, archive and indexer articles in place, and made light fixes to the two builds articles.
- Reframed the redirects note as a revised draft.
- Published a new article, "Delete before adding" (about 2,150 words), on the 3 October loop protocol reset, with early numbers labelled as early.
- Re-exported the public rknightion/fan-out-protocol repo with loop/contract.md and the three harness files (commit [commit]). This fixed loop-pi's broken README link.
- The site now renders the loop contract and harness files as live reference pages, and no longer reads the old doc-0001 protocol.
- agent-docs publishes a loop pointer to the site again ([commit]). RKB-0021 is done.
- Pushed the site ([commit]). The deploy runs 37362537148, 37362989352 and 37363337123 succeeded, which ended the run of failed deploys caused by the doc-0001 build break.
- just check passes. CodeRabbit reported zero findings. A smoke test and visual checks of the OG cards passed.
- AGENTS.md now tells writers never to name the second context, replacing the Mobile example.
- An 18-figure generation prompt set was written to codex/diagram-loop-reset-refresh.txt. The figures have not been generated.
- Backlog: created RKB-0022 (integrate the figure set) and RKB-0023 (revise the reset article after the 7 October assessment) and created HRN-0240 (eight stale loop source-document items). RKB-0019 and RKB-0017 were closed as superseded.
- The unpushed "update" commit ([commit]) went out with the push. It deleted codex/STYLE-BRIEF.md.

## Left open

- The 18 replacement figures are not generated or placed (tracked in RKB-0022).
- The redirects note is still a draft and is awaiting Rob's approval.
- "Delete before adding" quotes early post-reset numbers (47% to 24% idle, $32.8 to $6.7 per loop, small samples). It should be revised after the 7 October assessment (RKB-0023).
- Backlog-only commits [commit] and [commit] (site repo) and [commit] (~/.agents) are committed but not pushed.
- Stale or inconsistent source documents are logged in HRN-0240 but not fixed. They include the contract calling the Loopwatch receiver optional while loop-lint requires it, the watchdog wording, loop-pi SEAMS.md, transcript-retention.md, the mapper-deep route, agent-docs AGENTS.md caps, and an unenforced thinking override.
- The contract lists watch and heartbeat events and a heavy-gate lock that are not installed on the Mac yet. The protocol article says pi appends watch and heartbeat automatically, which the installed build does not do yet. The transcript does not show this being reconciled.
- AGENTS.md still tells writers to read codex/STYLE-BRIEF.md, which was deleted. Five colours have drifted from the old brief, and diagram-agent-series.txt is stale on two of them.

The loop protocol had moved a long way since I drafted the four agent articles on this site, so they were describing a system that no longer existed. I asked for them to match how things work now, with no history, because the site should show the current state. Before any writing, I had eight read-only research lanes map the current loop system and audit each article. Nearly everything needed work. The protocol article needed a full rewrite, most of the others needed heavy revision, and two needed only light edits.

After I answered their scoping questions, nine writing and plumbing lanes got to work. The protocol article is now a rewrite against the current loop contract. The machinery, lessons, Codex/pi, contexts, archive and indexer articles were revised in place, and the two builds articles got light fixes. The redirects note is a revised draft that still needs my sign-off. There is also a new article, "Delete before adding", on the reset from 3 October. Its early numbers are marked as early, because the contract was still changing.

The protocol pages had to move too. The site was still reading an old protocol document, and that was breaking the deploy. It now renders the loop contract and its harness files as live reference pages, and the old protocol address redirects to them. The first green deploy since the break came after that change.

Three independent reviewers checked the drafts against current sources and the installed tools. Each found real errors, and all of them were fixed before the build. The site checks pass, the code review came back with no findings, the live pages match the build, and the social preview cards render without clipping.

Still open: the eighteen replacement figures have a generation prompt written but aren't generated or placed yet. The reset article's numbers need revising after the 7 October assessment. Several source documents outside the site still disagree with the current system. For example, the contract calls the Loopwatch receiver optional while the linting tool requires it. Those are logged on the task board, but not fixed.
